Full-grain leather on the outside and, in the boots, cherry-red soft leather on the inside. Nothing on the outside to tell you what it cost.

The thesis

You pay for the make, not the logo.

The hides, the lasts, the stitching, the finishing: that is where the money goes. What we leave out is the name stamped down the side and the premium that comes with it. This is the welt on the Florence, the stitch that holds the sole to the upper and lets a cobbler take it off again. Nothing about it is decorative.

A 2 inch stacked leather heel, and a moc-toe. Cherry-red soft leather from the footbed to the top of the shaft, where nobody but you will see it.
